Ranking Virginia Tech Programs’ Seasons For 2021-2022

Virginia Tech had an extraordinary 2021-22 athletics year, which concluded in mid-June with the baseball program falling to Oklahoma in the NCAA Super Regionals.

The Hokies won five team ACC titles (both regular season and post-season) and two individual national championships over the course of the year, all in the winter or spring. Tech finished 33rd in the LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup, good for the third-highest finish in program history.

20. Women’s Tennis

Virginia Tech finished 6-17 (2-11 ACC) this spring, losing its final six matchups. The ACC is an insanely tough tennis conference — the Hokies played 12 games against a ranked opponent, winning just once (4-3 vs. No. 67 Syracuse on Feb. 25). Head coach Terry Ann Zawwacki-Holdren, who just finished her 19th season in Blacksburg, received a contract extension in the fall, so there is hope that she can right the ship.
