1) What do you see as Tyler Bowen’s biggest asset, and what is a potential concern? – HokieTC

Chris Coleman: I see Bowen as a natural fit for both his style of offense (at least my interpretation of his style of offense) and his recruiting territory. He’s a 57% run/43% pass type of coach, or at least he has been in the past, and he has a ton of experience recruiting the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia, if you’ve never heard that one).

Bowen got his break when he was hired by Fordham in 2015. He had previously been a graduate assistant at Penn State in 2014, but he moved to Fordham in 2015 to serve as Joe Moorhead’s offensive line coach. Moorhead was the head coach at Fordham at the time after previously serving as the OC at places like Akron and UConn.

After one year as the offensive line coach under Moorhead, he was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2016 after Moorhead departed to take the offensive coordinator job at Penn State. Bowen’s Fordham offense did the following in 2016:
