For now, there’s no real sense of urgency for Life Christian Academy (Va,) 2023 four-star defensive back Antonio Cotman. He took in quite a few visits this summer, which gave him more familiarity, but he insists he’s in no hurry to decide.

Cotman, No. 230 in the 2023 Rivals250, has six scholarship offers, from Virginia Tech, Maryland, West Virginia, Penn State, Boston College and Liberty. He saw those come in, along with quite a few others this summer. But for now, Cotman said he’s simply gathering intel to decide what’s most important in his recruitment.

“I’m looking for a family, someone who builds a relationship with me and my family,” he said. “I’m real big for family, someone who builds a relationship with my mom, the coaches when they recruit me. The people who recruit me, that’s who I’m going for.”

Cotman visited the Hokies July 25 for their barbecue. He also visited June 4 and received a scholarship offer more than two weeks later.

“Virginia Tech was really nice,” Cotman said. “That was actually the first college tour that my mom went on, so it was big for me. My mom liked it, my dad liked it, it was cool. I liked the vibe.”
