1) Who will play safety this year? Is it a surprise that Devon Hunter is going to be the boundary safety? Who will be the field or free safety? – DallasHokies98

Chris Coleman: Right now Devon Hunter is penciled in as the starter at boundary safety.  From what I understand, he’ll be with the first team defense when practice begins, and it will be up to him to fight off the competition and keep the job.

Devin Taylor started most of last season at free safety, and I was looking forward to seeing how he would play at boundary safety (rover) with a spring under his belt.  Unfortunately he broke his leg towards the end of spring practice.  I don’t think it’s anything nasty like a compound fracture or anything like that, but obviously that set back his development and conditioning over the summer, and I don’t know how close he is to being 100% at this point in time.

Tae Daley was expected to contend for a starting job in the secondary, but if the coaches are penciling in Hunter as the starter at boundary safety despite being away from football for nearly a year, then they may have some reservations about Daley after seeing him
