Virginia Tech Football Continues to Grow the Staff With Alums

Over the past couple of years, there seems to be a heavy emphasis on hiring Virginia Tech graduates as full-time employees of the football program.  In fact, the number of Hokie graduates working full-time as a member of Justin Fuente’s staff has more than doubled since Fuente was first hired back in 2016.  The roles of those employees have also expanded.

Here are the Virginia Tech graduates who were full-time employees on the football staff in 2016, per the Media Guide from that season…

Jarrett Ferguson, Strength & Conditioning
Ryan Shuman, Strength & Conditioning
Nick Acree, Strength & Conditioning

John Iezzi was also on the staff back then, though at that point I don’t believe he was a full-time employee, and he wasn’t listed in the media guide.  Cody Grimm and Courtney Prince were on the staff that year as well, but only in grad assistant roles, not in a full-time staff positions.  The only full-time employees were in the strength & conditioning department.
