Since November, Lord Botetourt (Va.) four-star offensive lineman Gunner Givens has held firm with the same top six: Virginia Tech, Penn State, North Carolina, Clemson, Ohio State and Alabama. That group remains the same. But now, Givens said there’s some movement within that group.

Givens, No. 146 in the 2022 Rivals250, said he has one official visit set, and as he continues to move towards a decision, he’s looking at a few specifics. So far, Givens said he’s already seeing some of those attributes in a few specific schools.

“There’s a few schools that I don’t talk to quite as much in that six, but I’m still choosing from those six,” Givens said. “It’s definitely just who I have the best relationship with, who I talk to the most. It’s a big thing, just who shows the most love. Penn State, I talk to Coach (Phil) Trautwein a lot. He’s been loyal to me ever since the beginning and just been consistent. Virginia Tech as well. Ever since the beginning, Coach (Vance) Vice, Coach (Adam) Lechtenberg, their whole staff is amazing people. I’ve had nothing but great conversations with them. I get at least a text a day and we talk once a week. UNC, they text often, too. Coach (Mack) Brown, he texts me a lot, so does Coach (Stacy) Searels. That’s probably the big thing. Ever since Clemson picked up Tristan Leigh, they talk, but they’ve kind of laid back a little bit. That’s a big pickup at tackle. Ohio State, I talk to them consistently, Bama, too.”
