There are now five finalists for Salesianum School (Del.) three-star defensive end Micah Wing. On Wednesday, he announced a top five via social media of Virginia Tech, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Boston College.

The next move isn’t quite so clear, though. Wing said he plans to see most, if not all of his finalists in-person when the NCAA recruiting dead period expires at the end of May. But while he claims no favorite, he does have some preferred criteria as he plots when his decision will take place.

“There’s nothing in particular, but they’re my top five for a reason,” Wing said. “They all have similar positives to their schools. Honestly, I’ve just got to talk it over with my family and my family members that have a big influence, who played football. I’ll let everyone have their opinion, see what’s best and go from there.”

The Hokies didn’t offer a scholarship until March 1, but Wing said they’ve quickly made up ground since the relationship had been in place long before that.

“Me and Virginia Tech have built a pretty good relationship since Corey Fuller hit me up on Twitter last July,” Wing said. “He told me how he loved my film, that I can fit that defense and make an impact. Ever since then, he’s connected me with the defensive coordinator, the head coach and my position coach, and we’ve been building the relationship ever since.”
