In late January, Freedom (Pa.) three-star offensive lineman Braelin Moore had just received his first two scholarship offers, from Virginia Tech and UMASS. He was content to wait at that point, to see what other college programs would show interest.
Even then, however, Moore was heavily leaning one direction. Despite the growing offer list, he continually came back to the Hokies. Last weekend, Moore could wait no longer. He committed to Virginia Tech. Now that he’s set, he’s determining how best to ready himself for that transition.
“I kind of knew from the beginning that Virginia Tech was for me,” Moore said. “I kind of wanted to wait, to get more offers and build my stars, but I knew Virginia Tech, from the start, was meant for me. My brother was telling me they don’t have a ton of spots that I could wait for. So, I was just like, let me commit, because I knew it was right for me.”
For Moore, it helped having a familiar face with the Hokies. His brother, offensive lineman Kaden Moore, signed with them in the 2020 recruiting class.
