Two scholarship offers are in for Freedom (Pa.) 2022 offensive lineman Braelin Moore, and while limited travel due to the ongoing pandemic has hampered his recruitment, a connection and a visit last fall to one of those offers has at least provided a beginning.

Virginia Tech offered Moore last Saturday, joining UMass. On Nov. 7, Moore was on hand to see the Hokies’ game against Liberty, the only in-person visit he’s made since the pandemic began. It has Virginia Tech in a strong early position, even though he’s still in somewhat of a holding pattern.

But Moore also has an association with the Hokies. His brother, offensive lineman Kaden Moore, signed with Virginia Tech in the 2020 class. That allowed Braelin the chance to see Lane Stadium in-person.

“He tells me a lot about the school,” Braelin said of his brother. “It’s a crazy atmosphere, and I can’t imagine what it’s like with all the fans. It was a six-hour drive with just my parents. My brother usually suits up, but he was hurt that game. We went out to lunch before the game, went back to the game, watched and went back to the hotel. But the game was crazy. It came down to the last play, and it was rough.
