At various times last season, Virginia Tech started three freshmen right next to each other from center to right tackle, with the center and right guard being true freshmen.  They were supported by the left side of the line…sophomores Christian Darrisaw and Lecitus Smith.

The Tech coaching staff was able to get around Tech’s lack of experience and strength with an extreme focus on misdirection, and it worked probably about as well as we could hope.  This year they will have a much more experienced group of players, with guys who have had more time to grow and get stronger as they’ve gotten older.
