The news was hard to process for Yousef Mugharbil. On Thursday, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association joined a growing list of high school governing bodies in postponing fall sports.

The Murphy (NC) offensive lineman still hasn’t quite processed what that means for him. He’s trying to push forward with his recruitment, though now he’ll also have to decide what his graduation plans are and when he’ll arrive at his college destination.

“My first thought was really, me thinking about whether I should stay and play my senior year or go ahead and get off campus and get to where I’m going,’ Mugharbil said. “Right now, it’s too early to say. Initially, I had planned on graduating in December to get on campus and get a head start. At the same time, I’d love to play my senior season with Murphy. That’s just a situation I’ll have to figure out.”

Mugharbil, Rivals.com’s No. 35 offensive tackle and No. 17 player in North Carolina for the 2021 class, could be getting closer to a final decision. He released a top seven last month of Virginia Tech, Florida, North Carolina, NC State, Louisville, Penn State and Tennessee. In Mugharbil’s mind, all seven have some commonalities.
