As high school football programs and recruiting camps have resumed over the past few weeks, St. Paul’s (MD.) three-star athlete Kylen Austin has resumed football activities as well. Except, it’s been anything but normal.
Austin said he and his teammates, still barred from team practice, have used Zoom, as well as Team Builder, a phone application, to conduct workouts. It’s less than ideal, but Austin said he’s simply thankful to be at work with football. He said he also works on his own.
“It’s pretty hard because you don’t really get a feel for anything,” Austin said. “It’s better than nothing. You just have to stay true to your craft. You can’t slack off, because we don’t know if we’re having a season or not. So, you just can’t slack off.”
