It’s been awhile since we’ve used Pro Football Focus to do an Inside the Numbers piece on Virginia Tech, so we’ll go with that today.  In fact, today’s article will be first of a two-part series, the second of which will run at some point next week.

Virginia Tech’s defense was much better in 2019 than it was in 2018.  You don’t need to see numbers to know that.  All you had to do was watch the games, and it was obvious.  You can also look at the PFF numbers and see notable improvements across the board.

First I’ll give you the numbers, and then I’ll talk about each player individually and what I think the future holds for him (if he’s returning for 2020).
