Virginia Tech picked up two in-state commitments recently, and offered another until-now unknown prospect from Virginia Beach. Today I want to talk about those three players, as well as a couple of other in-state recruiting topics.

Though they play different positions, Lawson and Asbury have similar stories. Lawson missed all but the final four games of his junior season with an injury, while Asbury only played in the final six or seven games, also because of injury.
To determine whether not those two guys were worthy of an offer, the Hokies had to do a couple of things…
1: Make sure they are healthy.
2: Evaluate them as to their fit with Tech’s new defensive coaches and the new defensive scheme.
