Robert Wooten is part of a group of players from the state of Texas that began matriculating to Blacksburg at the end of the 2020 recruiting cycle.  He is a defensive end who is also listed with offers from Arizona, Missouri, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Arkansas, Cal, Houston, Utah, Wisconsin, and a few others.  He was once committed to Missouri before Barry Odom was fired.  After decommitting from the Tigers, he signed an LOI with Virginia Tech less than a month later.
