St. Joseph (NJ) four-star running back Audric Estime has taken a few virtual tours of colleges and talked to plenty of coaches, but it’s just not the same.
Estime, No. 197 in the 2021 Rivals250, reports 20 offers, most recently from Indiana, Michigan State and Oklahoma State. While he’s in daily communication with coaches and has a good feeling about some schools, the pandemic and resulting NCAA recruiting dead period have temporarily thrown a wrench into any hopes that his recruitment will make much movement.
“I’m kind of open in my recruiting,” Estime said. “I’m just going through it. This coronavirus eliminated my stuff. I can’t visit, so I’m open to all schools. I’m waiting for my season to figure it out, around fall or so.”
Before the pandemic, over the past year or so, Estime said he was able to get in visits to Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Penn State and Rutgers. His visit to Blacksburg was one of his earliest ones, back in February of 2019, but it’s been enough to help keep the Hokies in the thick of the race to land his commitment.
