Dallan Wright Talks About His Virginia Tech Decision

6-1, 170

The college decision of Saluda (SC) 2020 wide receiver Dallan Wright came down to two latecomers in his recruitment. As quick as the options presented themselves, Wright made up his mind which he liked best.

Virginia Tech and Appalachian State each entered the picture with offers within hours of each other on Jan. 26. Wright officially visited both over the past two weekends. Last Sunday he gave his pledge to the Hokies, and promptly signed his letter of intent on Wednesday. Now, Wright is preparing himself to make the transition to Blacksburg this summer.

“It’s just how they treated me,” Wright said. “They had great hospitality. It felt like Saluda a lot, like the school has a lot of similarities, from football and off-the-field standpoint. They run a similar offense as we ran at Saluda. Also, the way the fans are. They support you no matter what, just like the fans at Saluda. I feel like I’m going into a situation that I’m thankful for.”
