The college options for Sun Valley (NC) 2021 tackle Michael Gonzalez are already aplenty. The three-star offensive lineman counts 20 offers to his credit, most recently from Penn State and Florida.

Gonzalez, Rivals.com’s No. 50 offensive tackle for 2021, has been busy this fall with visits, including one in each of the past three weekends, but he’s not ready to make any big moves just yet. He has an idea what he’s looking for, but he’s also not rushing anything, either.

“When I’m looking at schools, I want a good education, then I also want to go where I feel like I fit in, that has a good culture and is nice to be at,” he said. “I want a good area and all that. Hopefully, the team, it doesn’t have to be a winning, successful program, but a building program that’s going up, not down.”

Last weekend, Gonzalez was at Clemson for its game against Boston College. It was his second time there, following his visit for the Tigers’ spring game this year.

“This time, it got messed up, because I ran really late,” Gonzalez said. “I didn’t get to talk to any coaches by the time I got there. I only really watched the game, but it was a good atmosphere and everything. The culture over there is amazing. They have everything set up for success. They put their players in the right position and it’s their job to execute.”
