Virginia Tech True Freshmen Who Have Played
Nine true freshmen have played for Virginia Tech this season, with Tahj Gary and Jesse Hanson seeing the field for the first time against Rhode Island.
WR Tayvion Robinson: 7 special teams snaps, 206 offensive snaps, 213 total snaps. Robinson has now appeared in all six games for the Hokies. He leads the team with 25 receptions and 245 receiving yards.
DT Mario Kendricks: 1 special teams snap, 125 defensive snaps, 126 total snaps. Kendricks has appeared in all six games for the Hokies, and it appears as if he’ll continue to play a major role from now until the end of the season.
DT Norell Pollard: 5 special teams snaps, 173 defensive snaps, 178 total snaps. Pollard has played in all six games, and he’s been a disruptive player for the Hokies. His playing time went up against Rhode Island because of DaShawn Crawford’s injury, and he made his first collegiate start. If Crawford can’t play against UNC this weekend, Pollard is in line to get the start again.
