It was less than two weeks ago, Oct. 4 to be exact, when Norcom (Va.) athlete Karon Prunty committed to Liberty. He’s already rethinking that decision after a recent offer.

On Monday, Virginia Tech gave Prunty a scholarship offer on the heels of a recent visit there. Based on his familiarity with the Hokies and recent talks, he’s giving them a serious look.

“Liberty, that’s still my top school,” Prunty said. “But I’m looking to see what (Virginia) Tech has to offer me. I’ve been talking to them. I’ve been texting them for a while. Me and the coaching staff have built up a great relationship, so I feel like that’s strong.”
