It’s been three months since Palm Beach Lakes (Fla.) three-star defensive tackle Tim Brown committed to Pittsburgh. That choice remains firm, but it hasn’t kept others from trying to pry him away from the Panthers.

Last week, Virginia Tech joined that group when it made Brown a scholarship offer. Since Brown committed to Pittsburgh June 22, Central Florida and East Carolina have also made offers. He took a recent visit and has been taking those calls with other schools, but as it stands, Brown said he’s still on board with the Panthers.

“Pitt is making me satisfied with everything right now,” Brown said. “I like the way they just played against UCF. It’s going to be a great year, going for the ACC championship. That was a big win. Right now, I’m not paying too much attention to anyone else.”

Assistant coach Charley Wiles has been working on Brown,’s No. 41 defensive tackle for 2020. The two spoke on the phone last week.

“He said he’s been watching my film and stuff and that the coaching staff liked me,” Brown said. “He’s a great coach. He introduced himself well, introduced the program well. That’s really what he was talking about, and the culture at Virginia Tech.”

Brown said he and Wiles talked about Brown’s game and what he’s been able to do this fall. Palm Beach Lakes is 4-0 on the season, with Brown providing plenty of pressure on the defensive front.

“I’m playing good so far, helping the team win games, playing positions they need me to,” he said. “I need to work on just making more moves, more hand moves, creating more hand movement, just studying
