Football recruits graduating high school in December to enroll at the college of their choice has become so common, it’s essentially become a norm. Mill Creek (Ga.) three-star defensive end Myles Jackson wants to be part of that group.

That process for Jackson has become a bit tougher, however, with his decommitment this week from UCLA. But he hopes some upcoming visits and increasing looks will help him get to that early enrollment spot soon enough.

“I decided to (graduate early) last year and I had already looked into it,” Jackson said. “I asked around to some guys already in college. They said a big part is getting there, learning the playbook, learning the scheme. They said it takes time and that’s a big part of college life, learning the playbook. They said the earlier the better. Everyone I talked to, they said it’d be difficult to qualify, but if I did, it’d be a huge benefit. I knew it was something I wanted to do, because I want a jump start. I can compete in spring practice, learning the playbook and get a head start, even with academics.”
