Green Run (VA) three-star athlete Lakeem Rudolph has played a little bit of everything throughout his football career.
That versatility is a big part of what has made Rudolph an increasingly sought-after commodity on the recruiting trail. He’s up to 12 offers, most recently from Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and James Madison. While he’s not overly concerned about his college position, Rudolph said he’s moving towards the next steps in his recruitment by combing through certain aspects of each school.
“The main thing I’m looking for is the one school that my mom can know that she trusts the coaching staff to take care of her son in and out of football,” Rudolph said. “I’m looking for a staff that will make me a better man in life, teach me the aspects of life because they’ve been through it. I’m looking at both sides of the ball, so a little run game, a little passing, that’s fine. I have no problem blocking for my running backs. Defense, it doesn’t matter if they have me at free safety, it doesn’t matter. If you see me, you’re gonna have to go around me, because I’m gonna hit something.”
Rudolph said he played cornerback, wide receiver, tight end and safety in middle school. At the high school level, he played more receiver, then free safety.
