There’s always a common misconception from opponents and coaches regarding Santana Saunders. At 6-5 and 260 pounds, the Flowers (Md.) 2020 offensive tackle always feels like he has to prove his agility.
Now, though, that misconception might be hampering Saunders’ recruitment somewhat. He claims offers from East Carolina, Buffalo, Kent State, UMASS and Towson, but the other schools interested have all told him it’s a ‘wait and see.’ At this point, that’s what has Saunders’ recruitment in a bit of a holding pattern.
“I need to show I can bend, how flexible I am,” he said. “I’m a tall guy, so (college coaches) want to see that I can get low, bend and move around. I know what I have to do. They all just want to see it live.”
