Of late, Salem High School (VA Beach, VA) 2020 three-star running back Kaelon Black has been a bit hampered. He’s done his best to get himself noticed, including Sunday at the Rivals Three-Stripe Camp, in addition to visits.

Black is off to a strong start, with offers from Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, East Carolina, Howard and William & Mary. But while he gets his recruitment in order, Black is waiting. He’s waiting on the right time to really make a move with his college options, but he’s also waiting to get healthy, as he battles a strained hamstring.

“I feel like my film doesn’t really show what player I am, because I missed so many games,” Black said. “I know what I can do, and I feel like I’m more put together.

“My standards have really stayed the same as far as schools. I want to go to a school that puts academics ahead of athletics and treats athletes really well. That’s been the same thing since day one.”

On Saturday, Black was on hand for Virginia Tech’s spring game. He was last in Blacksburg in October for the Hokies’ game against Notre Dame.
