At the moment, DaShawn Crawford (#36) is Tech’s only confirmed JUCO DT, pending Jaden Cunningham’s final grades. That makes him pretty important. Coming out of Jones County JC of Mississippi, Crawford fits the profile of the smaller DTs who can thrive in VT’s defensive scheme if they’re quick and tough enough. He plays every technique, including nose and wide end in the 30 package. Jones County was a highly ranked team last year, and Mississippi is loaded with good JUCO programs, so he played against relatively good competition. Here’s his highlight reel, with some plays noted that caught my eye:
