For Westfield (Va.) linebacker Eugene Asante, the past month has almost been a blur because of the number of schools now involved in his recruitment. It started out with FCS, then smaller FBS programs, but of late, it’s been more Power Five schools getting involved.

Virginia Tech was the first school from a Power Five conference to offer, on Dec. 3. Since then, Asante has added offers from TCU, Maryland, North Carolina and yesterday, UCLA. At this point, Asante isn’t conceding much, only that he knows the school that’s in front.

“There’s so many schools talking to me, I have to work out logistics,” Asante said. “I don’t know when and where yet. I have a good idea, but recruiting has been blowing up. I have to work out logistics. I do love Virginia Tech. That’s my number one, but I want to keep taking visits.”
