Defensive End, Class of 2020
McCallie School, Chattanooga, TN
Now with 10 offers, McCallie (Tenn.) 2020 three-star defensive end Jay Hardy has a few options. In the midst of a handful of game visits, he’s hopeful more aren’t far off.
Western Kentucky offered Monday, while Virginia Tech was on Sunday. But Hardy isn’t separating his offers just yet. For now, it’s likely any decision will come towards the end of his high school career.
“I want coaches that care about the players, a place I can really fit in, that’s like McCallie,” Hardy said. “They really focus on academics more than athletics. I’ve been thinking about a major, and it’s between engineering and architecture.”
The Hokies have been in touch with Hardy for nearly a year, and he made a trip to Blacksburg this past summer.
“I like Virginia Tech a lot because of when I went for camp this summer,” Hardy said. “I like Coach (Charley) Wiles and Coach (Adam) Lechtenberg. They’ve really been wanting me since the end of my sophomore year. I just went to the facilities when I was there. I didn’t get to see the campus much. But I like the facilities. It really seems like they care about athletics and academics up there.”
