Virginia Tech’s 2018 defensive recruiting class focused on linebackers and defensive backs. The Hokies were especially successful at bringing in several high caliber linebacker prospects who had offers from multiple Power 5 conference programs. Today we’ll talk about that, and compare the numbers with past defensive classes.
Let’s get the numbers comparison out of the way first. Here’s a year-by-year look at Virginia Tech’s average number of Power 5 offers for their defensive recruiting class…
2012: 6.9 Power 5 offers
2013: 7.6 Power 5 offers
2014: 7.7 Power 5 offers
2015: 9.2 Power 5 offers
2016: 5.0 Power 5 offers
2017: 10.4 Power 5 offers
2018: 7.7 Power 5 offers
