ESPN is higher on Kane than the other two services. They list him as a defensive end, but that was shortly after his junior season, and they indicate in his profile that with added size he will be a defensive tackle in college (he was about 265 pounds when the scouting report was first done). His measurables and build indicate that he’ll be a defensive tackle for the Hokies, though some have mentioned the interior offensive line, specifically center, could also be a possibility.
Kane was a productive defensive lineman for Heritage High School in Wake Forest, North Carolina, just outside the city of Raleigh. He finished his high school career with 200 tackles and 31 sacks. He was an All-State player, and the Cap 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2017.
Some believe Kane will be a center for the Hokies, and at 6-foot-2 and 280 pounds, currently, I could see that happening.
