Chris Coleman: Let me talk about each one of those players individually.

Wabissa Bede is a better on-ball defender than Justin Robinson.  Not only does he provide an on-ball defensive upgrade when he’s in the game, but his additional minutes give Robinson more rest, which in turn makes Robinson a slightly more effective defender.  He can play harder for longer stretches thanks to Bede’s increased minutes.

PJ Horne may only be 6-foot-5, but he is more athletic than Kerry Blackshear.  In fact, in terms of pure athleticism, it’s not even a comparison.  Horne is closer to Chris Clarke than Blackshear.  Horne can also step out and shoot the three-pointer (as can Blackshear), so there really isn’t a dropoff in terms of skill.  I’m looking forward to next season when Khadim Sy returns.  He can back up Blackshear at the five, and Horne will have a chance to play his more natural position at power forward.  We could see Horne and Blackshear on the court together at times next season.
