In a way, the offseason has been a bit busier than the season was for Patriot High School (Nokesville, VA) offensive lineman Jakai Moore. That’s certainly been the case with his recruitment.
The 6-foot-6, 295-pound rising senior holds eight offers, most of which have come since the end of his season. Schools like Penn State, South Carolina and Louisville have all offered Moore, and Virginia Tech joined in on Jan. 14.
The recent onslaught of attention hasn’t allowed Moore to put things in perspective, but he’s made a few visits, and more are coming that could give him some clarity.
“I like team bonding a lot,” he said about his desired school characteristics. “I look at the education part, like how it’s going to benefit me and where I’ll get the most help at.”
Moore said he went to a pair of games last fall, to Virginia Tech for its game against Duke and Virginia for its game against Georgia Tech. Moore was back in Blacksburg on Jan. 14 for the Hokies’ first junior day of the year, and left with an offer.
