Armani Chatman is a versatile player from Virginia Beach.  After playing three years at Bayside High School, Chatman transferred to Bishop Sullivan as a senior, where he played with many other highly-touted prospects from the Tidewater area.  Though the Crusaders didn’t have as good a season as they hoped finishing 6-5, they played a difficult schedule that saw them face teams from all over the East Coast, including Canada.  Chatman will enroll at Virginia Tech having seen quite a bit during his high school career.

Virginia Tech lists Chatman as an athlete on  ESPN lists him as a wide receiver.  247Sports lists him as both a cornerback and an athlete.  He’s a versatile player who could be slotted on either side of the ball, but at this time I’m projecting him to land on the defense.  Free safety and nickel are possibilities.  I also think that if the Hokies played their old defensive scheme, field corner would be a good fit.  Nevertheless, he could still end up at cornerback in Blacksburg.
