Sure, there have been plenty of trips this fall. But Massaponax (Va.) 2019 three-star offensive lineman Donavan Beaver (6-6, 275) still hasn’t really scratched the surface of his recruitment.

Beaver,’s No. 14 player in Virginia for 2019, has three offers, from Virginia Tech, Virginia and Maryland. He visited Blacksburg three times this season for games and attended games at Virginia, Maryland and Georgia Tech.

Beaver will tell you things he likes and does not like about his early options. He’s not, however, ready to go very in-depth overall with his recruitment.

“One of my problems I’ve discussed with my coaches is I haven’t really looked into it (in-depth),” Beaver said. “When I went to Georgia Tech, that was a last-minute thing. I just said ‘hey, it’d be cool to visit Georgia Tech.’ We figured that out in three days. I don’t think about things too much. It helps me not get stressed out, but I think I have to start thinking about it. The plan is to this week, sit down and figure out where I’d like to visit, think more in-depth about things so I’m not sitting there in June not knowing what I want to do.”

The most recent stop for Beaver came Nov. 18, when he was on hand for the Hokies’ last-second win over Pittsburgh. He also was in Blacksburg for their games against Delaware and Clemson.

“We went to different places with all (three games),”
