MATTHEWS, N.C. — It isn’t easy being a 5-star recruit.

KJ Henry, who is widely considered to be one of the best players in the country in the Class of 2018, has garnered interest from schools across the nation. He’s been so busy attending camps, like The Opening regional last weekend, and taking visits that he hasn’t even visited one of the schools in his top-10, that being Penn State.

Still, the Nittany Lions are among six schools that seem to have put themselves in the top tier for Henry. As of now, Henry says that Penn State, Baylor, Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina and Virginia Tech have shown the most interest.

The Hokies were one of the schools that Henry visited this spring, and it seems as if Virginia Tech has become a serious player in his recruitment.

“I had a really good one last time,” Henry said. “It really put them in a good place, talking to Coach (Charley) Wiles, Coach (Justin) Fuente and Coach (Bud) Foster. I really wanted them to see my parents, my family, and meet them. They did a good job with that and treating them the right way. I knew what they were all about, but like I said, getting my family to meet them was my goal.”
