MATTHEWS, N.C. — The Mach 1 7-on-7 team in Virginia Beach, VA is quickly becoming one of the most talented 7-on-7 football programs in Virginia. Some of the best recruits from the 757 area of Virginia have teamed up to play together, and the group has garnered the attention of many recruiters. Among those recruits garnering attention is Armani Chatman.

Chatman, who is listed at 6-feet and 175-pounds, plays for Bayside High School in Virginia Beach. The 3-star recruit plays wide receiver and defensive back for Bayside, and the brighter stage that comes with Mach 1 has given Chatman plenty of opportunities to play against other future college players. So far, Chatman has 10 scholarship offers, most notably from Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia Tech.

This spring, Chatman visited several schools, including Penn State, Ohio State and Florida State. Still, it seems like Maryland and Virginia Tech have the edge in his recruitment. Chatman has visited both schools multiple times, and has developed a good relationship with both coaching staffs.

Chatman’s primary recruiter from Maryland has been Wide Receivers Coach and area recruiter Chris Beatty, who has years of experience coaching and recruiting in the 757 area.
