1) Who will be harder to replace: the trio of football stars or the duo of basketball stars? – Nova Hokie 95

Chris Coleman: That’s a really good question.  Personally I’m going to say the football losses, because I believe that Buzz Williams has proven as recently as this season that he’s able to adjust his gameplans and his team’s tendencies based on his personnel.  He also had that reputation at Marquette.  That’s not to suggest that Justin Fuente and Brad Cornselsen can’t do it, because I believe they can.  But I’ve now seen Williams do it, quite effectively, with my own eyes.

The other reasons I’m going with football is that because as good as Seth Allen and Zach LeDay were, especially LeDay, I do believe the Hokies could improve defensively without them.  Defense isn’t Allen’s strength, though he was better at it as a senior than he was his junior.  LeDay plays his tail off, but he can’t help that he’s 6-foot-6.  Having Kerry Blackshear’s length on the inside will help in that regard.  So while I think both guys will be missed offensively, I do think Tech could potentially be better off defensively.

As far as the football guys go, Bucky Hodges
