Justus Woods recently visited Virginia Tech.

Jason Stamm has covered Virginia Tech recruiting the past five years, the first four for Rivals.com (HokieHaven.com) and the past year for Scout.com (TheVTZone.com). A graduate of Western Kentucky, he’s worked professionally as a journalist for the past 10 years, including as the editor of InsideHilltopperSports.com, the Rivals.com site covering WKU. Jason also spent time as sports editor of The Oldham Era, a weekly newspaper outside of Louisville, KY and editor of The Sporting Times, a weekly magazine in Bowling Green, KY covering prep sports.

The interest from schools is picking up for Charlotte Christian (NC) three-star running back Justus Woods. But he’s also getting close to narrowing his focus.

Woods is up to 11 offers, most recently from Vanderbilt, Purdue, Colorado State, Stanford and Virginia Tech. He also made a pair of visits over the past few weeks, to Virginia Tech two weeks ago and Duke last weekend, both helping him reach an upcoming cutdown in his recruitment.

“For me personally, I wanna find a school where I can grow and develop academically and broaden my horizons and interests,” Woods said. “I wanna try to find things I’m interested in. Then, grow spiritually. Faith is a big thing for me and my family. Then, I want a place I can play high level football with coaches and players I get along with really well.”
