
Today we’re going to take a look at Virginia Tech’s 2017 offensive recruiting class and compare it to past classes in terms of Power 5 scholarship offers. The Hokies signed a big offensive class this year, with the exception of offensive line, and they were able to sign players with multiple Power 5 offers at all positions — again, with the exception of the offensive line.
Let’s go over the numbers, position by position.
Quarterbacks
Virginia Tech has signed a total of 10 quarterbacks since 2012. Hendon Hooker has the second most Power 5 offers of anybody on that list.

2015, Dwayne Lawson: 14 offers

2016, Josh Jackson: 7 offers
2017, Hendon Hooker: 12 offers
2017: AJ Bush: 0 offers
Justin Fuente has done a very good job recruiting quarterbacks since he arrived in Blacksburg. Jerod Evans was the #1 rated JUCO quarterback in the country (JUCOs get fewer offers, so take his two other Power 5 offers with a grain of salt), while Hendon Hooker had a dozen offers from major programs, including Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee
