Friday marks the beginning of the last recruiting weekend in the Class of 2017 cycle. Friday and Saturday are the final two days of the contact period, meaning Virginia Tech can host a few more recruits before things go quiet before National Signing Day.
As of now, here are the official visitors that Virginia Tech will host this weekend.
Zion DeBose, defensive end
DeBose is one of Virginia Tech’s top remaining targets. The coaches are very high on DeBose and don’t see him as your average 3-star recruit. The Hokies have put a lot of time and effort into this recruitment, as evident by this picture they sent DeBose after his visit to Pittsburgh.
DeBose is still considering Virginia Tech, as well as Illinois, Pittsburgh and Missouri. He really enjoyed his visit to Pittsburgh last week, and the Panthers are the Hokies’ biggest competition at this point. Earning a commitment from DeBose would really solidify the defensive line.
Keontae Jones, defensive back
Virginia Tech offered Jones back in May, and though his recruitment has been less publicized, the Hokies have kept up with Jones and got him to take an official visit this weekend.
