Hokie fans had a lot to celebrate last week, at the Belk Bowl and elsewhere (Ivan Morozov)

What a ride we went on for a few days there.

There’s no way I can do all of that justice: The Belk Bowl, the win over Duke, the commitment of Nathan Proctor, and then the draft announcements of Bucky Hodges, Isaiah Ford, and — surprise, surprise — Jerod Evans.

I don’t know about you, but I had a really good Christmas and New Year’s break, helped in no small part by what the Hokies were doing on the field, on the court, and on the recruiting trail. Whit Babcock’s magic touch with hiring coaches is bearing fruit, as the Hokies’ three major programs, all headed by Whit Babcock hires, are all simultaneously ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in school history.

Add the success of men’s soccer (NCAA Elite 8) and wrestling (ranked #6), and anything else you want to throw in there that I’m forgetting, and it’s a good time to be a Hokie.
