In part two of my Q&A about the upcoming basketball season, I will cover possible starting line-ups, Buzz Williams’ offensive system and how the Hokies might become a mainstay in the NCAA Tournament. How many wings will play, and what is the possible starting lineup? – gr8hokie
For the purpose of this question, I’m going to lump Devin Wilson in as a “wing” and not necessarily a guard. With a lack of depth in the post, I would bet the Hokies will use more wings than normal. Fortunately for Buzz Williams, the wings are where the Hokies are the deepest. With the exception of Ty Outlaw, all the guys at these spots have already played significant minutes at one point. Those players are Ahmed Hill, Justin Bibbs, Chris Clarke, Devin Wilson and Ty Outlaw.
Typically the wings would need to take up 80 minutes out of a possible 200 in a game (two positions, 40 possible minutes a piece out of a total of five...
