Virginia Tech is still looking for at least one more offensive line commitment for the Class of 2017, and one of their top choices is Mekhi Becton.
Becton, a 3-star prospect from Highland Springs, VA., is still considering all of his options and is in no rush to start narrowing down his list of schools. Becton has plenty of options as he’s already received 28 reported scholarship offers, including the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia, Cincinnati, Georgia, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, NC State, North Carolina, Penn State, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
Becton said his relationship with the coaching staff, the stadium atmosphere and program history at Virginia Tech have put them into consideration. Becton’s primary recruiter is Offensive Line Coach Vance Vice.
“Our relationship is good and we talk about every other day,” Becton said.
Head Coach Justin Fuente is another reason that Becton likes Virginia Tech.
“I like the way he feels about his players and the way he cares about them,” Becton said.
Virginia Tech currently has two offensive line commitments — Aiden Brown and Silas Dzansi — while tight end Lecitus Smith could find himself on the offensive line once he arrives.
Becton, along with Tyran Hunt and Carter Warren are the offensive linemen that Tech is still pursuing.
