There’s an information blackout at Virginia Tech these days, compared to what we are used to in the past.  My August is still busy because of my responsibility to produce content for TSL, but from a fan perspective, I can certainly see why Virginia Tech fans don’t have a lot to say right now.

In the past, my Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays during August were spent doing thing such as this…

1) Watching Saturday’s scrimmage in person.
2) Writing up my thoughts after the scrimmage.
3) Watching the video highlights on HokieSports and BeamerBall.com.
4) Waiting for BeamerBall.com to post the comments of the coaches.

Needless to say, none of those things happen anymore.  Scrimmages are closed, so I can’t write about them.  BeamerBall.com doesn’t exist anymore.  They don’t publish video highlights.  Heck, they don’t even write a brief recap article with stats.  There is absolutely no information flowing out of the program.  They don’t even release a depth chart these days, so I have no idea of knowing who is playing certain positions.

Obviously that makes it a little difficult to tell you what’s going on.  The silence is deafening.

All that being said, it’s time to start our 2016 position previews.  We’re going to start with the most important battle going on this month: the quarterback position.

Jerod Evans, Brenden Motley
Jerod Evans (4) and Brenden Motley (9) are coached by Offensive Coordinator Brad Cornelson.
