1) Will Whit Babcock look for a new baseball coach? Who are the realistic candidates? – DoYouLiftHokies and Mr. Touchdown

Chris Coleman: I personally like Pat Mason a lot. I sat down in his office with him for an hour back before the season started and talked about his team. He was optimistic. I thought the hitting would take a step back while the pitching would take a big jump forward. Instead, the hitting has been a lot better than expected and the pitching hasn’t improved at all. In fact, it has gotten worse.

There have been some key injuries to the back of the bullpen, and that’s unfortunate. Still, the Hokies just set the school record for losses in a season (34), and they’ve still got two games left at UVA. With an improved English Field at Union Park on the horizon, Whit Babcock can comfortably begin the process of changing baseball coaches if he so chooses. I’d be surprised if he didn’t choose to go in that direction.
