1) What are the top 5 storylines for spring ball? – uvabasher

Chris Coleman: Spring practice is only 11 days away. You can bet that Justin Fuente and his staff are chomping at the bit to get started.

Here are my top five storylines…

1: Quarterback. Jerod Evans (r-Jr.)? Dwayne Lawson (So.)? Brenden Motley (r-Sr.)? Who will win that starting job, and who will be #2? Will we have any attrition as a result of the quarterback battle this spring? Will it even be decided this spring, or will the competition last until August?

2: Linebacker. Tech needs major improvement at mike. Either Andrew Motuapuaka (r-Jr.) needs to get a lot better, or Carson Lydon (So.) needs to beat him out. At backer, who will take over for the departed Deon Clarke? Will it be Tremaine Edmunds (So.), or will he move to defensive end? I personally feel like we are going to see better linebacker play in 2016 simply because it can’t get much worse than it was in 2015.

3: Defensive end. We know Ken Ekanem (r-Sr.) will start, but who will be his opposite number? It could be rising r-sophomore Vinny Mihota. However, can Mihota play on the wide side of the field, or will the Hokies have to go back to their old stud/end scheme? Or, can a guy like Trevon Hill (r-Fr.), or possibly Tremaine Edmunds,
