1) Do feel Coach Wolff deserves another year or has he led the WBB team as high as he can? – Ranger Sam

Chris Coleman: We’ve gotten this question a bit lately, and Mark Berman wrote an article about Wolff’s future, so let me address it. It’s not a matter of whether or not he deserves to coach next season. It’s a matter of whether or not he deserves a contract extension.

When you are trying to determine whether a coach deserves another year or deserves to get fired, you have to look at two things: his contract, and his record. Here’s how Dennis Wolff’s contract and record look…

Contract: 1 year remaining (expires after the 2016-17 season)
Record: 59-91 overall, 16-65 ACC

You can’t retain a coach with one year remaining on his contract. That gives him the lame duck status, and it will destroy recruiting for a year. In this scenario, Whit Babcock only has two real choices: He can extend Dennis Wolff’s contract, or he can terminate it and pay the buyout.
