1) Which VT FB coach will have the toughest and easiest prep for Fall? – UtPr0sim

Chris Coleman: In my opinion, Bud Foster will have the toughest job this fall. I mean that with regards to coaching Virginia Tech’s linebackers, rather than coordinating the entire defense.

At mike, Foster has to develop Andrew Motuapuaka. He also needs to bring Carson Lydon along quickly, because if Motuapuaka doesn’t improve a lot from 2015 then he’ll have to be replaced. Lydon would be the ideal replacement. He’s bigger than Motu, he’s stronger, and he’s a better overall athlete.

At backer, Deon Clarke is gone. I’ve heard rumors of Tremaine Edmunds moving to defensive end (which I’ve always suspected he would do at some point) and Anthony Shegog sliding up to the backer position. Foster would have to teach Shegog a brand new position, and also continue to develop Jamieon Moss and Raymon Minor, who are very inexperienced.

I’m assuming that Foster is taking over the whips as well. That’s a sign that the whip spot will be nothing more than an extra outside linebacker position used against power formations.
