As Expected, No Real News on Virginia Tech’s Coaching Search

It’s been eight days since Frank Beamer’s retirement press conference. As expected, there is no concrete evidence as to who Whit Babcock is pursuing in his quest to replace legendary head coach Frank Beamer.

As we also projected in “Get Ready for a Rollercoaster” we’ve seen a few names thrown around, a couple more than others. First, the favorite was Rich Rodriguez. Then TSL poster Night Train claimed that Chad Morris was a done deal. Then, RichRod was the favorite again. Now there’s this article claiming that Justin Fuente and Morris are the leading candidates.  None of it is concrete.  None of it is definite.  I’m not saying that none of it is true.  I’m just saying that you shouldn’t get caught up in every little thing you hear or read.

In other words, things are going exactly as expected, so just sit back and relax. It’s not everyday that we get to go through a football coaching search around here. I’m determined to enjoy it, and I’m not going to latch on to every name that gets
