A proud Virginia Tech alum that has bled orange and maroon for over a decade. I’ve had the great opportunity to work as a student manager for the Virginia Tech football program from 2002 to 2006, which was easily the best four years of my life. I had the luxury to work with the best defensive coordinator in college football, and saw first hand why we say: In Bud We Trust. Football season is finally here, and Labor Day can’t get here soon enough. Go Hokies!
In 2009, Urban Meyer was well on his way to his second National Championship at the University of Florida. He brought his innovative spread offense from Utah to the nation’s toughest conference. He instantly created an unstoppable offense that left SEC defenses struggling to defend it. As Meyer continued his success, it was only a matter of time until his assistant coaches became hot commodities. That’s exactly what happened when Charlie Strong, his former defensive coordinator at Florida, left to become the head coach at Louisville. There was a huge vacancy on his staff, and he needed to replace Strong with someone of his caliber, or even better. So, who better to call than the most highly regarded defensive coordinator in the country, Bud Foster?
